Survival Kit

Consider making up “go” bags.  Gallon ziplock bag can hold crayons and coloring pages and small books.  Organize by day or event so they have something new to do each time.  Consider blank paper so the child can draw the graduate a picture or write them a letter.

I spy is a guessing game where the spy, or it, says “I spy with my little eye …” and players have to guess the object the Spy saw.  Say… I spy something that begins with F (flag). Or I spy something yellow (parade uniform sash).

Coloring pages- Fighter Jets, US Flags,

National Museum of the Air Force- Coloring pages, word searches, interactive games and such.

Make sure you have access to the following:

Rain Poncho- Umbrellas are not allowed into the stadium or the parade field.  Colorado Springs has been known for its weather to change on a dime.  Be prepared with these emergency ponchos. These will easily slide into a purse or clear stadium bag.

Chapstick- The UV rays are intense.  Protect your lips with a good chapstick.

Bottled Water (If it has been opened, it will not be allowed in.  EMPTY water bottles are usually allowed.  There are drinking fountains around to fill the bottles once inside.)

What should I wear?

Dress in layers!  The weather will change throughout the day.

Comfortable shoes.  You may be walking .5 mile from place to place.  Golf carts will be available for handicapped individuals.  Do not count on this happening as they are in high demand.
